Academic Intervention Support (AIS)

Academic Intervention Support (AIS) time is built into the school day. Students are grouped and regrouped frequently based on areas of need for enrichment and remediation. Center Grange utilizes two grouping models of support during AIS time. 

In-Class Grouping - Students are grouped with peers within their same class. Groups can vary in size and ability, and we utilize formative assessment data to form groups. Using the in-class grouping model, students remain with their daily classroom teacher for the intervention. 

Flexible Grouping - Flexible grouping allows teachers to provide increased differentiated instruction for students. Groups can vary in size and may be more closely aligned in ability. We utilize formative assessment data to form groups. Through the flexible grouping model, students may have a teacher for AIS time that is different from their daily classroom teacher.
